BREAKING NEWS: Driver of the ill-fated bus was among the last bodies retrieved in last night’s retrieval operation.

Jaime Monares, the 45 year old bus driver was among the last bodies that was retrieved in the crash site in barangay Cansomoroy, Balamban town along with three other Persian nationals.

The four cold bodies were recovered approximately 14 hours after the bus fell into a 30-meter ravine along KM33 about five kilometers from the town proper of Balamban.

Among the bodies retrieved were of Morteza Vatani, a physician, Darood Khatibi, and Shafagh Homayooi.

Monares is a resident of sitio So. Kalunasan in barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City.

He drove the Cattleya Tourist Bus boarded by Iranian nationals who were bound for Balamban town for a beach outing when he lost control over the bus before it took a deep plunge into the ravine wherein 19 people, 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
