A woman whom police described as “Estafa Queen” was arrested by police while attending a court hearing in Mandaue City yesterday morning.
Gina Lou Ong, 26, a resident of Lawaan I, Talisay City, was arrested by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visayas (CIDG-7) while attending a hearing of her estafa case at the sala of Regional Trial Court Judge Marilyn Yap.
A warrant issued by Judge Oscar Andrino of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court was used in the arrest.
At least seven complainants appeared at the CIDG-7 office to lodge a complaint against Ong.
After the arrest, Ong was brought to the agency’s office in Camp Sotero, Cabahug in Gorordo Avenue, Cebu City. She declined media interviews.
The court recommended P60,000 for her temporary liberty.
A complainant from barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City, alleged that Ong failed to pay her P2.5 million for the jewelry that she bought from her in 2003.
Another female complainant said Ong bought jewelry from her worth P900,000.

Im one of the victims of Gina Ong she got 400k from me, she first said that we could do business together and just invest with her, and my money is at good hands all i have to do is collect monthly interest. Then after a month i never saw her again. She also got some jewelries from me and promised to sell it. At first she sold me a bunch of jewelries and I began to trust her, then she acquired more jewelries from me.
She scams a lot of people specially car-napping vehicles all she does is rent a car and do some paper works that will make the car seem legit to be hers and she’ll sell it to the innocent buyer.
I talked to one of the condo guards that she’s staying in gina has a lot of connections from police officials to the lto, she pays them under the table cash to let her slip or sometimes just uses her body for her transactions that what she is.
I hope someone sees this and help me get her into jail for what she did.
