Justice Secretary Leila De Lima said that reward money may soon be raised against parricide convict Dinagat, Surigao del Norte Rep. Ruben Ecleo, Jr.
Offering a reward would help authorities find the location of the fugitive cult leader and lawmaker says Justice Secretary Leila De Lima.
“We can always consider putting up a reward money but if in the few days wala pa rin siya makikita, magiging automatic din yon on the part of the DILG and DOJ,” De Lima said.
She said she is in constant communication with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jesse Robredo on the matter.
“Pinagbibigyan muna namin ng konting panahon baka makita naman. If wala we will resort to reward money,” she said.
However the money is an obligation of the local government and the Philippine National Police (PNP).
She said Ecleo is now part of the A-1 list which includes other personalities involved in high profile cases.
De Lima is in Cebu today to attend the ground breaking ceremony of the new regional office of the National Bureau of Investigation in Sudlon, Lahug, Cebu City./ by Ador V. Mayol, Reporter
