A MAN who climbed a tree and stayed there for seven hours caused a two-hour traffic in Natalio Bacalso Avenue, Cebu City, yesterday.
Rufino Ancon of Dumajug town, southwestern Cebu, would not tell police why he climbed the narra tree located a few meters from the Cebu Institute of Technology – University.
Police initial investigation revealed that the farmer climbed the 300-foot-high tree around 3 a.m.
Fire Officer 2 Ashly Lee said the negotiation started at 7 a.m. but Ancon refused to talk.
Lee said they had a hard time negotiating with Anton when he started moving from branch to branch, which caused the crowd to shout and cheer for him.
Lee said Anton jumped at 9 a.m. but rescuers grabbed him toward the carry taker where he landed on the center.
Anton was brought to a hospital to check on his mental state.
“He only keeps on saying he has animals in Dumajug,” said Lee./Correspondent Chito Aragon

What the writer knew was that the event happened near in Cebu Institute of Technology, but his other self reminded him that it has changed to University status already…now,he finds weird to hear Cebu Institute of Technology-University (much weird than asking some spectators around about the right name of the school)…but find it cool to hear Cebu Institute University rather..
Ignorance masked as typo error is a well known practice by news writers nowadays…they don’t bother researching anymore.
