Mandaue City Hall terminated its contract with a towing company over the weekend following complaints about its services.
Mandaue City Legal Officer Giovanni Tianero said the city ended its contract with Jadewell Parking System Corp. last May 5 and any towing done by the company afterwards will be not sanctioned.
Last year, the Mandaue City government started to work on canceling its contract with Jadewell after it failed to post a performance bond. The Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue (TEAM) board is conducting towing operations.
But Tianero said the city government doesn’t have an impounding area for
towed vehicles. “The TEAM can issue citation ticket to the violators, instead
of towing his/her vehicle,” Tianero said./Correspondent Fe Marie Dumaboc
