AN active low pressure area (LPA) weakened but the state weather bureau Pagasa yesterday said it could still develop into a major weather disturbance.

“There is still a possibility that it will develop into a tropical depression because it is still in the seas,” Pagasa Mactan weather analyst Boy Artiaga said.

Cebu and Central Visayas will experience scattered rains in the morning and afternoon since the LPA has entered the Visayas, Artiaga said.

As of 5p.m. yesterday, it is located 450 east northeast of Borongan, Eastern Samar. Once it develops into a tropical storm, Artiaga said it will be called “Enteng.”

The public is advised to watch out for possible flooding and landslides. Metro Cebu will experience light to moderate waters but Artiaga warned that the open sea will be a little different. Correspondent Jessa Chrisna Marie J. Agua
