Charges were filed in court yesterday against the 25-year-old man who hostaged a 7-year-old girl in barangay Apas in Cebu City last Wednesday.
Paul Guigue, who is suspected to be mentally ill, will be facing trial on charges of serious illegal detention.
No bail was recommended.
Guigue allegedly grabbed and took the girl to his home as a hostage at around 9:30 a.m. last Wednesday.
He poked a pair of scissors and an improvised ice pick towards the girl.
At past 10 a.m., Cebu City Police Office director Senior Supt. Melvin Ramon Buenafe entered the suspect’s home and negotiated with him in order that the the girl will be released.
When Guigue tried to lower the girl, he was arrested by policemen.
Guigue reporedly demanded P500 for his fare to Panglao, Bohol where he came from.
