THE Kia Rio sedan  allegedly used by Crips gang members in  illegal activities was surrendered to the police Tuesday afternoon.

Consolacion Pacadar of sitio Taboada, Mambaling, and mother of one of the suspects arrested by the police  brought her car with license plate YGD-234 to the City Intelligence Branch (CIB) of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO).

Pacadar said after the police informed her that her  car was used in committing crimes, she voluntarily surrendered it.

“I surrendered it because my conscience is clear and I want my name cleared,” she said.

CIB chief Romeo Santander told reporters that they traced Pacadar’s car after one of the six arrested Crips gang members admitted that they used the car in  drive-by shootings done by their  buddies.

Pacadar said her son usually drives the vehicle  but she knows that his friends also use it.

Mark Joseph Abellanosa, 18, of barangay Bulacao; Mario Camomot, 27,  of barangay Lahgug; Nelgen Dacalos, 27, of Pardo; Ernesto Andog, 24 and two minors were arrested by police last Monday after they allegedly robbed passengers of a jeepney.

Dacalos, a former call center agent is facing frustrated murder charges and is out on bail.

Pacadar said she noticed that Camomot frequents their house.

She also said   her car was sometimes used by another person.

“I know someone else was using it because my son was at home but the car was missing,” she said.

Santander said police are looking  for a certain Kabang and Busyong whose names were given by one of the minors who were arrested./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
