More than P1.3-million worth of properties were razed by fire at 2:48 a.m Friday in Buanoy, Balamban.

F01 Ramel Tapia of the Balamban Fire Station, said the fire burned down a restaurant, bakery, and three houses, all located across Gate 1 of the Tsuneishi Heavy Industries.

The fire originated at the abandoned old house owned by a certain Cheryl Tampos and spread towards the house of Emalyn Lascano, the King’s Lechon restaurant owned by Dennis Garcia and Sonny’s Bakeshop owned by Paulino Pesalbon.

The fire likewise razed a boarding house and stockroom, both owned by Ezequiel Legazpino. Tapia said they haven’t determined the cause of fire.

But as early as last Thursday afternoon, neighbors noticed burning garbage at the back of Tampos’ house. Tapia said the fire was under control after 15 minutes but was put out nearly four hours later at 6 a.m.

No one was hurt but the managements of both the restaurant and bakery claimed P500,000 damages each. Damages to the three houses were pegged at P380,000. / Correspondent Jhunnex Napallacan
