For the fifth time, Barangay Campo 4, Talisay City was hit by a landslide after a heavy downpour last Tuesday.

The landslide hit a portion of the road that was cleared before by QM builders, contractor of the road widening project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

They resumed clearing the area after the landslide hit at 1:00 pm. The Talisay City Council wrote the DPWH to assess the area and advise them on what action to take to prevent another landslide.

“If the DPWH recommends the area to be totally close we are willing to send men from the City of Talisay- Traffic Operation Division Authority (CT-TODA) to man the traffic,” Vice Mayor Alan Bucao said.

But Talisay City Councilor Danny Caballero said doing this would affect small businessmen. He said the long term solution would be the total relocation to the residents./Correspondent Gabriel C. Bonjoc
