Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza will take up with the Korean ambassador crime incidents in Mactan involving Korean nationals when the diplomat visits on Friday.

“Even before, I have been trying to mediate in cases of troublesome Koreans. In some cases, the conflicts involve fellow Koreans,” Radaza said.

Mayor Radaza said she instructed the police chief, Senior Supt. Rey Lyndon Lawas, to be more vigilant in preventing Korean conflicts.

Last Oct. 31, two Koreans were ambushed by an unidentified gunman who shot at their car as it left the Pacific Villa I Subdivision.

Another Korean, Kim Jae Hyung, and three Filipino accomplices are facing a frustrated murder complaint for the attempt on the lives of Korean businessman Lee Dong Gun and his assistant Jung Ha Bok.

Lawas said police learned that Kim flew to South Korea last Oct. 26 and returned to Cebu on Nov. 3 but can no longer be located in his home in Pacific Villa I. /Correspondent Norman M. Mendoza
