Southern Cebu victims of Pablo typhoon receive Capitol aid

Families in southern towns of Cebu who sustained damages in their homes and properties due to Pablo’s wake received financial assistance from the Cebu provincial government.

At least 177 house owners whose houses in towns of Boljoon, Santander, and Samboan were destroyed received P3,000 each while 410 owners of damaged homes got P1,000 each.

Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia led the turnover of assistance together with allied local officials of the towns.

The damaged baywalk and park in Boljoon town will be restored through the Priority Assistance Development Fund of 2nd Dist. Rep. Pablo Garcia.

The provincial government will also help repair the roofing of Samboan municipal gym. Boljoon Mayor Teresita Celis, an ally of the governor, thanked the Garcias for the support.

The families of Santander and Samboan towns were also given housing materials such as woven bamboo panels, galvanized iron sheets and umbrella nails to aid them in rebuilding their homes.
