1,200 families relocate to Mandaue housing site

About 1,200 families voluntarily transferred to a relocation site in Barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City in a bayanihan program sponsored by the Mandaue City government this morning.

A 6.5 hectare of land was prepared by the city government for informal settlers living in danger zones in Mandaue. The bayanihan program was also attended by officials of five barangays.

Another thousand residents of Barangay Subangdaku will also be relocate soon, according to barangay captain Early Manatad. Some residents agreed to voluntarily demolish their shanties and build new homes in the relocation site./ Christine Emily Pantaleon
