A magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck areas of Leyte at 7:58 a.m., Monday.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the epicenter of the earthquake is located 10 kilometers southeast of Ormoc City with a depth of 14 kilometers. Its origin is tectonic.
Intensity 4 tremors were felt in Ormoc City, Dulag-at and Tolosa while intensity 3 and intensity 2 quakes were experienced in Tacloban City, Palo and Leyte respectively. No damage was however reported./Correspondent Christine Emily Pantaleon
