Low Pressure Area coming in PAR

Posted on January 2, 2013

A low pressure area is coming into the Philippine Area of Responsibility and will possibly turn into a tropical depression which will be named Auring.

Oscar Tabada in a radio dyAB interview said that there is a 30 to 50 percent possibility that this LPA would turn to be the first tropical depression in our country this 2013 which will be named Auring.

The LPA has been noticed this morning 1,020 km southeast of Mindanao embedded along the inter-tropical convergence zone.

Visayas and  Mindanao will experience heavy rains today until Friday. But Tabada said that the possibility is not too high for it to become a tropical depression.

The sites which will be affected by this tropical depression will be Visayas and  Mindanao. / Christine Emily Pantaleon
